This was a difficult challenge for me, as I've never made a card based on an inspirational photo. After many trials and errors I decided to focus on just a few things from the photo. Squares, Dragonflies and the Colours found their way onto my card. Here it is!!
Squares: Nine 1" squares were punched out from various card stock.
Dragonflies: The Dragonfly image from Places, Please was stamped on eight of the squares using Versa mark and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder. The sentiment, from Butterfly Dreams was also heat embossed.
Colours: I chose as many colours (see list below) from the inspiration photo as I could and arranged them onto the white card stock that had been impressed with the Wood grain Impression Plate. The baker's twine also included the various colour themes.Dimensional foam strips were used to raise the front white panel and give some dimension. I didn't want the small squares to stand away from the card front too much, so I added small 3/4" squares of white card stock under each coloured square before attaching them to the card front. This gave just enough 'lift' to the squares without adding too much thickness.
Card Details: All PTI unless noted
Stamps: Places, Please (dragonfly); Butterfly Dreams (sentiment)
Inks: Versamark
Papers: Stamper's Select White, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Hibiscus Burst; SU Certainly Celery;
2 Pinks and 3 Turquoise papers from my stash.
Other Supplies: Woodgrain Impression Plate; SU Silver Stampin' Embossing powder; EK Success 1" Square Punch; The Twinery Baker's Twine (turquoise, pink, green); pink button from my stash; dimensional foam stripsThanks for visiting my blog. Enjoy the Blog Hop!!

I was thinking I didn't have a dragonfly...
and I do!!
Thank you for reminding me :)

Very fun...love the way you have used the colors!
Such a lovely rainbow of dragonflies in your Rainbow Gardens.
Love the linear lines of the squares and a beautiful touch to emboss the background!! lovely card.
Love the way you highlighted the dragonfly and incorporated that gradient of colour in a differnt way :)
Very, very nice, Karen! I think you did a wonderful job! (I find photo challenges on the challenging side too.) Super idea--I wish I'd remembered the dragonfly from Places, Please. I would have liked to add it to my card. :-) I love your multi-colored twine--a simple twist (to use more than one color) that adds much to the overall card! Happy June Hopping!
Beautiful card! + great take on the challenge picture! Love it!
Perfect name of your blog today too(-:
Beautiful! I love your interpretation of the photo - so many fun colors and textures. Great job! ;-)
Just gorgeous! I love the little pops of colour that each square gives, and I love how you picked out the dragonfly element and made a feature of it. Cute!
Great idea to use squares of colors! Love the embossed dragonflies too.

Wow, Karen, this is beautiful - looks like you incorporated all the colors in the photo! And wow, that looks like a lot of work went into it!
Beautiful! Lovely effects on the dragonfly.
Sooo very nice!! I like it especially 'cause I first had something like this in mind for my own card, with blocks of colors, but then when I started it turned out completely different, but it's fun to see that you also had the color boxing idea!! It turned out so pretty!!
Hugs, Wendy
