Masculine cards are often a challenge to make, but
wood grain stamps and texture can be a great starting point.
Background Basics: Woodgrain was stamped onto caramel coloured cardstock with Creamy Caramel ink (Stampin'Up), then textured with Woodgrain Impression Plate. To create the look of wooden planks, I cut 1/2" strips from the prepared panel, inked the edges with Dark Chocolate, then re-assembled the strips onto the base. (You can see additional pictures and instructions for this technique from a previous blog post/card I made here.)I layered several Spiral Notebook die cuts over the background and then added the fox (fussy cut) image on foam dots.
One Spiral Notebook page was cut from New Leaf Gingham paper. The small tag (Coffee Cozy Details die) was cut from Canyon Clay Bitty Dot paper and attached with stitching. A red heart was also added to the tag.
I stamped the sentiment using DJ Whimsy Alphabet with Dark Chocolate ink.
The grass and flowers (Garden Variety) were stamped at the bottom of the sentiment panel.
The sun (Heart-2-Heart #6) and a butterfly (Sweet Spring) were also stamped and coloured.
