Basketball Birthday

I make cards for all the fellas in my family -  husand, sons, brothers,
nephews and grand nephews.  So . . . I thought I would dedicate the
next two weeks of blog posts to all the boys and men in my life.
Hope you find something that inspires you!!

Most of the adult males in my family like simple and clean cards. Here's one that I made for a basketball fanatic. (He likes to watch and play the game).
I used the little scrap of patterned paper as my colour inspiration. The yellow-orange card base was covered with a piece of white card stock stamped with SU's Weathered Background block, using CTMH Goldrush ink.  The strip of patterned paper was added across the middle of the card.

The basketball jersey was stamped onto a white card stock in red ink. The number "1" was coloured with a light turquoise marker. It was mounted onto a red mat and then added to the card front.
The sentiment was stamped onto a white rectangle, matted and then added to the lower portion of the card. To create faux brads for the front, I  punched tiny circles from red and blue paper and glued them to the corners.

Card Details:
Stamps:  Creative Clear Stamps: Basketball;   Close to My Heart: Solo "O"; SU: Weathered Background stamp
Inks: CTMH Holiday Red, Goldrush
Papers: Yellow-orange, red, white card stock; patterned paper from my stash;
Other Suppliesblue marker; circle punches

Thanks for visiting.

You make all of the male cards? No wonder you're so good at it. I love the cool effect you got using the background stamp on the white cardstock!
