Plaid Tinsel & Tags

Tinsel and Tags is still one of my favourite sets for Holiday cards.
I found a piece of plaid patterned paper in my stash and
used it as the card front for this rustic Christmas card.

I die cut the various circle pieces from the dies:
Kraft Scalloped Circle mat
Lemon Tart Circle
White Circle - sponged with blue ink to create a night sky
White Layer - trees and hillside
White Layer - snowman, house and hill
Sentiment was stamped with Pinefeather ink.

Since there are so many layers, the focal panel
has lots of dimension, but was quick and simple to make!!
That's always a bonus when you're making
lots of cards for one occasion.

Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps - Tinsel & Tags Kit;
Inks - Kraft, Dark Chocolate' Pinefeather, Black;
Close To My Heart:Vineyard, Outdoor Denim
Paper - Kraft, Lemon Tart; Stampin' Up:Rustic White;
The Paper Co:Blond Columns; Plaid Patterned paper (from my stash)
Dies - Tinsel & Tags Kit
Other - Copic Markers; Sakura Glitter Gel Pen

More Baby Gifts

My daughter-in-law asked me to make a
Diaper Clutch/Changing Mat, similar to this design.
 I used two coordinating prints,
a bright orange for trim and yellow
terry cloth to make the clutch/diaper pad.
When it is opened the two flaps have pockets
that can hold a diaper on one side and baby wipes
on the other. The yellow terry cloth was layered
over several pieces of flannelette and the
printed fabric before quilting them together.

Since I had leftover Owl fabric and terry cloth, I made two bibs.

Extra terry cloth was used to make a hooded bath towel.
It was trimmed with the dotted fabric.
Two more bibs were also made with this printed fabric.

I found a pattern on Pinterest here for this cute
Sunshine & Ribbon Toy, so I used the leftover
yellow terrycloth and other scraps from
my fabric stash to make this for the baby.

Baby Swaddle and Burb Cloths

I've been sewing and knitting for my grand daughter
who will be making her debut at the end of November.
Here are the first of some items I made.

Baby Swaddle
I used  this pattern to make a
flannelette swaddle for the new baby.
I used a combination of 2 prints and
a light pink solid for the swaddle.

When the swaddle is open, you can see
the little pouch where the baby is placed.
The two "wings" fold around the front of
the baby to create a cozy wrap.

Receiving Blanket

I used the same colourful print on one side
and a light pink for the backing.
Bright pink decorative stitching holds
the two layers together.

Burb Cloths
I really liked the shaped design of this pattern
and used it to make 6 burb cloths with various
flannelette prints and solids.

I used a dark pink on the backing and then added the same fabric as an accent band.

The second burb cloth uses a white flannelette backing.

This burb cloth uses a light pink for the backing and an accent band on the front.

Dark pink backing and accent band.

Another dark pink backing and band.

A bright green backing and accent band.

Giftts for Baby

My son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first baby
at the end of November, so I've been busy making a
variety of things for the new baby.
Today I'm sharing a Baby Shower card and envelope
using a variety of stamps and dies.

I cut a white rectangle using
Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangles and
then repeatedly stamped it with
a heart (Sweet Baby) using
Sweet Blush, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst
and Raspberry Fizz, to create an ombre look.
I cut another rectangle and stamped it with
Vintage Jadeite using Background Basics: Gingham,
securing this piece at the bottom of the card front.

Flower Power (C.C.Designs) was stamped
with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured
with copic markers. The focal panel was
matted with Lovely Lady card stock.

The sentiment ( ) was stamped with
Vintage Jadeite onto white card stock
and also mounted onto a pink mat,
then dimensional foam tape.

BABY (Polka Dot Parade Alphabet) was added.
Several letters together to create dimension.
Stamping Bella pink dots accent the card front.

Another white rectangle was die cut for the interior of the card. A row of hearts was stamped across the bottom and the sentiment (Hanging Out) was added.

The envelope front was stamped with the
same sentiments as the card front and then the
teddy bear from Polka Dot Parade #4 was added.

Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps - C.C. Designs: Itzie Inkie Flower Power;
Background Basics: Gingham;
Polka Dot Parade Alphabet, Polka Dot Parade #4,
Sweet Baby (heart), Hanging Out (sentiment)

Pumpkin Wreath Birthday

My daughter-in-law celebrated her birthday
in late October, just before Hallowe'en,
so a Pumpkin themed Birthday Card was perfect!

I was inspired by this card  from Amy Sheffer.
I stamped Rustic Wreath with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
and coloured with copic markers onto a
square white card front (Lawn Fawn: Stitched Square).
The sentiment (Autumn Hills) was stamped with Pinefeather ink.

The pumpkins (C.C. Designs) were stamped,
coloured with copics and fussy cut,
before adding them to the wreath.
One of the pumpkins was 'popped up' with
foam dimensional tape.
A few sequins from my stash were also added.
The front panel was then attached to a square card base
accented with Canyon Clay Patterned Paper.

Canyon Clay ink was used to stamp the sentiment
(Stylish Sentiments: Birthday)
and then highlighted with leaf images from Rustic Wreath.

Leaf Prints Anniversary

Keeping with the fall leaves theme
from the last few blog posts, I made an
anniversary card for my son and daughter-in-law,
using colours from their October 2015 wedding.
(You can see details of their wedding in this post.)

Rustic White card base was stamped with
small leaf images (Monthly Moments: September)
using Fine Linen ink. All of the edges were sponged
with additional ink to create a distressed look.

Blue card stock (Recollections) was
used to create the main focal panel.
One of the Leaf Prints dies was used to
die cut two leaves from the blue card stock
and another two from Rustic White card stock.
The blue panel was impressed with
Stitching Impression Plate
before adhering it to the front of the card.

The two white die cuts were stamped with
Canyon Clay, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartruese
and Classic Kraft inks. The die cuts were attached
in a few places so that they could be curled up.
I also stamped the leaf images on the white base,
so the colours could be seen under the die cut pieces.

The sentiment (Quilted: Spring) was
stamped with Close To My Heart: Moonstruck ink.
Kraft coloured ribbon, Rustic Jute Twine
and a blue button finish the card details.

Card Interior
The senitments
(Autumn Hills & Keep It Simple: Anniversary)
were stamped with Canyon Clay and Moonstruck ink.
The leaf (Leaf Prints) used the same combination
of colours from the card front.

Leaf Silhouettes Birthday

Another Autumn Birthday card!!
This one was for my husband's October birthday.
I used water coloured paper that I had left over
from making this card to cut two leaves from
Leaf Silhouettes die collection.
The top layer of the leaves were cut from
Canyon Clay card stock and then placed over
 the coloured leaves.
The Burlap patterned paper (Recollections)
was attached to the card base (Rustic Cream)
a dark brown ribbon was added and
then the sentiment (Tea for Two)
was stamped with Canyon Clay ink.
Three Candy Dots (Stampin' Up) accent the card.

Supplies (PTI unless noted)
Stamps - Tea for Two
Inks - Canyon Clay
Paper - Rustic Cream, Canyon Clay; Recollections: Photo Burlap; watercolour paper
Dies - Leaf Silhouettes
Other -  SU: Coffee Ribbon, Candy Dots; Target: watercolour palette

Michael: Quilted Autumn

I always like to use leaf designs and warm colours for
Autumn birthday cards .
This is a card I made for my nephew's October birthday.
I used Quilted: Autumn stamps and dies, cut from
Rustic Cream and Dark Chocolate card stock.
The outer sections were stamped with a
small polka dot stamp from Bitty Background Blocks
using Fine Linen Ink. The leaf portions were stamped with
Canyon Clay, Summer Sunrise, Terra Cotta Tile,
Simply Chartreuse, Old Olive (Stampin' Up).
Some of the sections were inked with
more than one colour to give a very rustic look.
All of the stamped pieces were inserted into the
Dark Chocolate Leaf frame.

The sentiment (Boy Basics: Rock On) was stamped with
Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with copic markers.
This strip was matted with Dark Chocolate.
The card base is Rustic Cream with a Fine Linen
card front (impressed with Wood grain Impression Plate).
Rustic Twine was wrapped around the card panel
before the sentiment strip was added.
Edges were sponged with Vintage Tea Dye Duo.

The sentiment (Stylish Sentiments: Birthdays)
was stamped with Summer Sunrise,
Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile using my Misti.
A small leaf die cut was stamped with
several colours to finish the card.
