Lea's Birthday Card

I really liked Betsy Veldman's SAF 2014 Kit: 1940's
when it was first introduced. I finally used this
set to make a card for my daughter-in-law.
 One of  Betsy's cards
was my inspiration for this birthday card.
Betsy's card was a lesson in combining stamps to
create a patterned card. I used similar images
from the set but varied the colours:
Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy, Lemon Tart, and Aqua Mist.

The sentiment banner was stamped and then
fussy cut so it could be attached over the central image.
The rest of the sentiment was stamped directly onto
the card front panel. The sweet flowers were die cut
and stamped using Quilted: Summer.

Card Inside
I wanted to bring some of the card front elements
to the inside of the card, so the frame and a few
of the flowers were added with the
Pure Poppy sentiment (Framed Out #1) as the focal point!

A Few Extras:
Since my son and daughter-in-law live out of town,
I needed to keep her gift simple and easy to mail.
I made two gift card envelopes using
Hawaiian Shores card stock and Seed Packet die.
Sparkle and Shine stamps were added to the
Button Card die with a gift card inside.

Lea loves tea from David's Tea, so I got her a gift card from
that location and added a belly band to indicate the contents!!
Tea for Two stamps and dies; flowers from the SAF 1940's Kit
and hearts from Love Lives Here: Holiday complete the look!

Thanks for visiting today.

Your card is so sweet - love that 40's look! I especially like the gift card holder with the belly band - what a great idea!

Karen, what a sweet ensemble for your DIL. Who wouldn't love receiving a gift like that? Great job on all three pieces!
