Driving by with a Birthday Hi!

My brother and several nephews are motorcycle enthusiasts, so I'm always looking for appropriate images for birthday cards for them.  Here's another masculine birthday card with a  motorcycle theme.

I found this free clip art image when I did a Google search, so decided to try resizing it for a card. I printed it onto white Bella card stock. PTI's Mat Stack #4 die was the perfect size for the image, so after colouring with copic markers, I cut the die shape and then sponged the edges with black ink.

A small strip of black and white polka dot paper was added to a strip of white card stock before mounting to the black, white and turquoise plaid paper.  The focal panel was attached on top of this.

The sentiment ( from SU's Loads of Love) was stamped onto white card stock, a circle was punched and then mounted onto a Twilight circle. A silver eyelet was added to the sentiment panel so I could attach a piece of baker's twine.
The corners of the card were embellished with photo corners and small metal adhesive dots.

The main card base was made from PTI's True Black, so I needed to add a white panel to the inside of the card. I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Big Birthday Wishes and a few images from Grunge Me with Black and Twilight inks for some extra detail. I repeated the Twilight coloured photo corners and sponged black ink on the edges to finish the card.

Card Details
Stamps: Digi motorcycle image; SU: Loads of Love;  PTI: Grunge Me, Big Birthday Wishes
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; CTMH Twilight
Paper: Making Memories: Black Small dots;  Autumn Leaves: Honey Do- Work Shirt; CTMH:Twilight;  PTI True Black; Bella White.
Other Supplies: copic markers; PTI Mat Stack #4;  The Twinery Black Baker's Twine;  Colorbok adhesive metal dots; EK Success photo corner punch, circle punches; silver eyelet.

Thanks for visiting.
We have a long week-end in Canada, so we will be celebrating with family tomorrow - BBQ and fireworks!! Have a great week.

Ahhh, great masculine card! And very clever and resourceful to use printable clip art for the focal point image, great job coloring it too!

Boys and men cards are always the less fun ones to make but it sure seems like you have a ball with them! Love that little hanging sentiment.

Great masculine card, Karen. Perfect image and beautifully coloured. Love the way you combined elements from different sets and finished off the inside too :)

How cool! I just love this card. It's so James Dean. The focal image is amazing but the DP background is better than good. Love this!
