Mattie's 3rd Birthday

I've been slowly working on Christmas cards, but I thought I would take a break to finish a birthday card for my grand neice who will turn 3 this week.  This card is on its way to New Zealand along with a little parcel - hope she gets it in time for her big day!

I used this little girl image (September Sugar)  from C.C. Designs and a co-ordinating wooden bench. These images were coloured with copic markers and then fussy cut so that I could mount them on the background papers from My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy True Blue collection. A yellow daisy chain was positioned between the upper and lower papers at the bench to divide the 'sky' paper from the 'grass'.  Another daisy was added to Sugar's hair with a yellow rhinestone.  PTI Harvest Gold card stock was used to create the 5" x 5"  card base.

The main focal panel was cut with the largest Nestibilities Label #11 die and the three side panels were cut from the smallest die in that collection.

Before adding the sentiments and the flower, I stamped each with the small polka dot panel from Bitty Backgrounds using SU Pool Party and then sponged some PTI Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo to all of the edges.

Two different sentiments from Butterfly Dreams were added to the small panels using Rich Cocoa ink. The center panel was accented with a punched flower using one of the coordinating papers.  I actually punched 4 layers of card stock and glued them all together to create a thicker flower and added dimension. A yellow rhinestone was added to the center.

Big Birthday Wishes and the '3' from By the Numbers die collection were used on the interior of the card. Mattie loves owls, so I used the little owl  from Tiny Treats:Valentine to create the 3 images  (stamped, cololured with copics, hand cut and glued) .

I made a little tag to attach to the gift using the owl image from Tiny Treats: Valentine. The circle frame was stamped with one of the Label Basics stamps and then punched out with a 1 3/4" punch. It was added to a patterned paper cut from Mat Stack #2  and a Pool Party mat using Layerz Mat Stack #2. Two small Stamping Bella Dots were added for a little 'bling'!!

You know what, this is one of my least favorite MME paper pads...I bought it but didn't find the colors easy to work with. But with your colored image this looks so fun! And I love it that you use the numbers in your cards - - especially for little kids!

Love this card. I am sure your neice will too!. The girl image is darling. I likehow you have her as the focal point on the label. Using the smaller labels on the side is great.

This is adorable, Karen! She will love that little girl (beautiful background scene, too). And I love the inside as well (love the 3 with the three owls!)
